Colorado Safe Schools Act
Schools must create specific policies and procedures related to student conduct, discipline and school safety (C.R.S. 22-32-109.1). Among other things, this must include establishing a Safe School Plan that addresses student conduct and discipline and a School Response Framework that addresses emergency management.
Claire Davis School Safety Act
The Claire Davis School Safety Act imposes a limited waiver of sovereign immunity for a school that fails to exercise “reasonable care” to protect all students, faculty and staff from “reasonably foreseeable” acts of violence that occurs at school or a school-sponsored activity.
