National Honor Society
The National Honor Society (NHS) is a nationwide program dedicated to empowering students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become transformative leaders in their schools, communities, and beyond. At Stargate School, our NHS chapter aims to cultivate Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character so that every member will be well equipped to make a meaningful and lasting impact beyond high school.
Requirements:
To ensure that every member of NHS embody the values of the Stargate NHS, they must fulfill the basic requirements once admitted (with some variation):
- 1 street clean-up - monthly events cleaning Washington St from 128th-136th.
- Individual community service
- Minimum 3.75 cumulative weighted GPA
- Attend all NHS meetings
- Remain in good standing
To be eligible to apply for NHS, every applicant must:
- Have completed two semesters as a full time high school student
- Have been a Stargate student for at least one semester
- Have a 3.75 cumulative weighted GPA
- Have 15 hours of community service, completed as a high school student
