Fundraising

At a time when many schools are cutting back, the Stargate community remains committed to giving our students meaningful opportunities to explore, discover and grow – both inside and outside the classroom. To make those unique opportunities possible, community members are expected to, when possible, support the school financially. As a Charter school, Stargate does not generally receive a full proportionate share of property taxes/bond election funds and - unlike District schools - must fund its facilities from operating revenues. As a result, Stargate, like other Charter schools looks to alternative revenue sources, including annual fundraising campaigns, to supplement needs that fall outside of the annual operating budget. A committee of Stargate volunteers and staff oversees an internal request process for distribution of funds raised through the Fundraising Committee and allocated for disbursal each year by the Governance Board.
