Tours & Assessments

Group Tours (sign up required)

Group Tours are a great way to see our current Stargate students in action and ask specific questions in a small group setting. Sign up is required. You can check dates, times and availability via the links at the top of this page.

Attending a Tour:

  • Elementary K-5 tours are for adults only.
  • Middle and High School students are encouraged to attend the Middle and High School tours with their parents/guardians.

Prospective family tours are not mandatory for Stargate applicants. They are for your information only. If you sign up for a tour and cannot attend, please email admissions@stargateschool.org.

Cognitive Assessments (sign up required)

The Stargate Admissions Policy considers a body of evidence to qualify students. If a student already has an Advanced Learning Plan (ALP) as defined by the State of Colorado, they may use that to qualify. However, if your student does not have an Advanced Learning Plan, the application WILL require a cognitive assessment as one measure used to determine intellectual giftedness and admission. The Cognitive Assessment can be an individually administered IQ test OR a group administered Cognitive Assessment at Stargate. Please note the results of the group administered assessment at Stargate will not be available to parents until after the admissions process is completed.

Applicants who choose to participate in a group administered cognitive assessment may use the link at the top of this page to sign up for one session. If you sign up for a session and your student can no longer make it, please sign up for another day and email admissions@stargateschool.org to let them know of the change. If you are unable to attend any of the scheduled Stargate sessions, you have the option to have your child tested independently, see the Admissions Resources page for more information.

Academic Screenings for Kindergarten only (sign up required)

The academic screening is another measure used to determine intellectual giftedness and admission. All applicants applying to grades Kindergarten are required to attend the academic screening. It is an online assessment and students will be using a mouse. Students should be prepared for this.

Applicants may use the link at the top of this page to sign up for one session. If you sign up and your student cannot attend, please email admissions@stargateschool.org to let them know of the change.

Prospective Family Nights (open house - no sign up)

Stargate offers several opportunities for prospective families to attend large-group, open house style, informational meetings. Visit the Key Dates page for dates and times. Separate sessions are offered for Elementary and for Middle/High School. Attendance is not required for Stargate applicants.

Attending a Meeting:

Elementary School Prospective Family meetings are geared for adults and can get boring for young children, so we suggest they do not come. Middle and High School students are encouraged to attend with their parent/guardian.

If you have questions, please email admissions@stargateschool.org
