Middle School Robotics : Congratulations to the Middle School Robotics teams as they competed Saturday at the State Tournament. Twenty eight teams were there from all over Colorado. Stargate was represented well with 8 teams and many of them finished in the top 5 of each category! Congratulations to "Sky's The Limit" for winning the Robot Skills Challenge and Innovate Award and to "Mile High Mechanics" for winning the Think Award. Both teams qualified for the World Championship in Dallas in April. Thank you to Mr. Howe for leading the teams. Way to go Eagles!

High School Robotics : Congratulations to the Brawling Bananas for winning the Innovate Award at this weekend's High School Robotics State Championship tournament. The Innovate Award recognizes an effective and well documented engineering design process. They are the first Stargate high school team to qualify for the World Championship and will be one of only nine teams that qualified out of Colorado this year. The World Championship is in Dallas in April. Congratulations Eagles and thank you to Mr. Howe for leading the charge!

Science Olympiad : Congratulations to the Stargate Middle School and High School Science Olympiad teams. They both competed this week and Stargate was shining bright. The middle school team of 15 superstars qualified this Saturday to compete at the Middle School State Tournament! It was an all day event with students competing together in 23 events. Stargate teams took 1st place in "Roller Coaster" and 3rd place in "Forestry". For the first time ever, Stargate has 2 high school teams advancing to State! Teams consist of up to 15 people who work together to compete in 23 different science events from Astronomy and Bridges to Trajectory and Wifi Lab. Stargate's Purple team won the 2nd place team trophy, and Stargate's Platinum team placed 7th, both earning a spot in the top 15 which advance to State. Congratulations Eagles and a big thank you to Mrs. Myers, Mrs. McVeigh, Mrs. Siles and Ms. Tucker. Stargate is very proud of you!

HOSA State Competition: Congratulations to the Stargate HOSA Future Health Professionals! They competed this week with over 1000 other health science students at the State Conference in Denver. Stargate had 43 students compete. Of those 43, Stargate had 34 Finalists (placed top 10 in their events) and 19 students placed in the top 3 in their events and qualified for Nationals.
Rhea Masand was elected State Officer: Vice President of Media Relations.
Alie Lewis's T-shirt design was chosen to represent Colorado HOSA!
Anika Bandaru, Srisahanaa Chandramohan, Rhea Masand, and Yasmine Shrestha were awarded the Barbara James Service Award for each completing over 100 hours of healthcare related community service.

Middle School Brain Bowl: Congratulations to the Middle School Brain Bowl Teams! Stargate sent two teams to the Regional Brain Bowl Tournament this past weekend. Our 6A team finished first in the Preliminary rounds to qualify for the Elimination Rounds. There was no stopping them as they went on to win the last three rounds and win the tournament for their age group! They will compete in the Brain Bowl Championship Tournament. Please congratulate Rohan Jeyavel, Ritika Jain, Shrivatsa Murugan, Jiya Dalvi, and Aakashkumar Parikh! Team 8A (a team of four 7th graders and one 8th grader) fought hard against teams of full 8th graders. Congratulate Lydia Lai, Rachel Weston, Isabel Enriquez, Sanchi Rajaraman, and Krisha Udeshi on their efforts! Thank you to Mrs. Bassman and Mr. DeFord for coaching! Great job Eagles!

Middle School Robotics: Congratulations to the Middle School Robotics Teams that competed at Estes Park this past weekend. Out of 30 teams, Stargate took all four awards! Mile High Mechanics won Teamwork Champion AND the Excellence Award; Incognito won the Design Award and Fries of Fury won the Judges Award. The Stargate teams went above and beyond at this show and received many positive comments from judges, coaches and volunteers for not only their skills but for their positive attitude, helpfulness and kindness toward other teams and volunteers. Great job Eagles and great job to Mr. Howe for coaching these amazing students!

Stargate Student Wins CDPHE Poster Contest: Congratulations to Stargate 6th Grader, Elia Junyent for winning the CDPHE Annual Radon Awareness Poster Contest. Elia won first place and earned $300 for her submission. Her poster will be entered in the National Radon Poster Contest, sponsored by the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors, the American Lung Association, and the Environmental Protection Agency. Her poster will be displayed on the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s radon website www.coloradoradon.info for 2023. You can read more about the contest and Elia's win here.

Knowledge Bowl Team: Congratulations to Stargate's Knowledge Bowl Team A for taking 2nd place at the Dinosaur Ridge Knowledge Bowl Invitational Tournament. They competed against 16 other teams! Way to go Eagles!

Adams 12 District Water Polo team: Stargate junior Gavin Carter was selected to captain the Adams 12 Five Star Schools' district water polo team this fall. He was joined on the team by Stargate freshmen Andrew Carter and Alan Klopp, as well as athletes from across the Adams 12 district, many of them new to water polo this year. They competed against teams from BVSD, JeffCo, DPS, Littleton and Cherry Creek through the Colorado High School Water Polo Association. Way to go!

3A State Championship, Cross-Country: Congratulations to Allison Pippert for taking 3rd place in the 3A state meet. Allison also won the Metro League Championship and the regional championship. Congratulations also to Nick Hofer who finished 9th at the league meet, 12th at the regional meet and 63rd at the state meet. The entire Cross Country team and coach Tucker Grose deserve a big congratulations as well for an amazing season. They finished strong and only missed State, as a team, by 4 points. We are proud of all you! Go Eagles!

Stargate Tennis Player Statebound: Congratulations to Stargate Freshman, Gregory Waggoner. He played #4 doubles on the Legacy High School varsity tennis team this fall and finished the season with a 13-5 record. He and his partner placed 3rd in regionals and qualified as alternates for the 5A State Tennis Tournament. Way to go Gregory!

Orchestra Honors - Congratulations to High School Orchestra members: Reese Bush, Jeremy Huang, Ava Lee, Gwynneth Reeder, and Valerie Xin for making it into the Western State Orchestra Festival! This event has always been considered a prestigious event. It's been on hold the last two years and we're all excited to have it back in person! These students will get to perform with other top notch string players from our state at UNC Greeley November 3rd-5th.

Middle School Yearbook Staff wins All-Colorado Award - Congratulations to the 2021-2022 Middle School Yearbook staff for winning top honors from the Colorado Student Media Association for the 2022 yearbook. They received an All-Colorado overall award as well as for every category (design, photography, writing) We are so proud of them and all of the hard work and dedication they put into last year's book! National Youth Leadership Council - Elizabeth Clement, 11th grade, was recently elected Colorado's representative to the Youth Leadership Council for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. It's her second honor from the group. She was one of 29 Colorado students selected for their co-op-sponsored Youth Tour to Washington D.C., June 12-17, which included meetings with state and national leaders. As Colorado's Youth Council representative, she will participate in another week of leadership training, and then attend the NRECA PowerXChange next spring in Nashville, TN. where she'll have the opportunity to speak with national leaders and decision/policy makers. Congratulations!
Pan-American Youth Chess Championship- Iris Li, 5th grade, won the Gold Medal for the Under 10 Girls Division at the competition in Uruguay this summer. Iris was the official representative of Team USA (the highest rated player in her age group). As the official representative of Team USA again, Iris will attend the FIDE World Cadet Chess Championship in September in Batumi, the country of Georgia. https://wccc2022.fide.com/ Congratulations Iris!
Eagle Scout Project - Thank you to Stargate Senior, Conor McVeigh. He organized a team to help beautify the Stargate campus as part of his Eagle Scout project. On Aug. 6, they moved 50 yards of mulch and planted 8 new trees! Thank you to Doug Ryan for helping Conor. Wow, the campus looks amazing!
All-American, Cheerleading - congratulations to Moss Nicks and Jadyn Bratcher and to the Stargate Varsity Cheer Team. The team earned top levels (blue and gold ribbon) at the CSU UCA cheer camp in July. Moss and Jadyn successfully competed for spots as All-American cheerleaders, earning invitations to perform with other All-American cheerleaders across the country (and world!). Congratulations!
All-American, Track & Field - on June 16, Allison Pippert earned the title of "High School All American." She finished 6th in the 5K event at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Oregon. The event is considered the national championship of U.S. high school track & field. Way to go Allison!!!!!
