How to Apply

(waitlisted and new applicants)

Kindergarten-8th grade

All applicants are required to obtain an IQ test for admissions to Stargate. Waitlisted applicants do not need a new IQ test, as they have already previously applied and qualified.  The IQ test may be done prior to November 1st.

  • Please click here for a list of testers and information on the tests that are accepted by Stargate.  You are not required to use any of the testers listed on our website.  You may use any licensed psychologist of your choice. IQ reports are required to be sent to our admissions office directly from the psychologist.
  • Please download and print the IQ Report Authorization to Release Form and bring it with you  for the psychologist to sign.  After your student is administered the IQ test and the authorization to release form is completed, please follow the steps below (anytime between November 1st-February 1st).

* If your child has taken the IQ test (Wechsler Intelligence Scales for Children version)  prior to January 1st, 2018, you may use the test for admissions. Email the full IQ report to admissions@stargateschool.org. If your student was administered the IQ test after January 1st, 2018, you will need to complete the IQ Report Authorization to Release Form (see above) to upload to the application.

**Your child MUST be 5 years old by 10/01/19 to be considered for Kindergarten or 6 years old by 10/01/19 to apply for first grade in the 2019-2020 school year.

Step 1:  Create a SchoolMint account (Application will be available on November 1st)

All applicants are required to create a SchoolMint account to submit their applications.  If you have more than one student applying, you only need to create one SchoolMint account and simply add the other students.  If you already have a SchoolMint account (waitlisted applicants or applicants with siblings at Stargate), simply log into your account and add a new student by clicking on the green “Add/Edit New Student Application”.

Step 2:  Fill out online application form  (Application will be available on November 1st)

Fill out the online SchoolMint application. The following documents are required and must be uploaded to complete the application:

  • Proof of residency- The bill needs to be tied to the house and needs to be the most recent bill (ie. water, utility, mortgage, signed contract, rental lease agreement, cable, Internet).  We can not accept driver’s license, car registration, cell phone bills, or medical bills as proofs.

  • IQ Test  Authorization to Release form   IQ reports must come to us directly from the psychologist.  Please click here for the IQ Test Authorization to Release Form. 9th-10th grade (we are not accepting applications for 11th and 12th grade)

All applicants are required to have either an ALP (Advanced Learning Plan) or IQ test for admissions. Waitlisted applicants do not need to re-submit these documents, as they have already previously applied and qualified.

  • If your student has an ALP, you can contact your student’s current school for the ALP.  You will be required to upload the ALP to the application.

What is an ALP?  The Advanced Learning Plan (ALP) is an individualized plan for identified gifted students. The ALP is a record of programming options and academic or talent goals that support the Student’s strength area(s) and affective or behavioral needs. Through collaboration of the students, parents and school personnel, the ALP guides educational planning.

  • If your student does not have an ALP, they will be required to obtain an IQ test.  This may be done prior to November 1st.  Please click here for a list of testers and information on the tests that are accepted by Stargate.  You are not required to use any of the testers listed on our website.  You may use any licensed psychologist of your choice.
