How to Apply


We are no longer accepting applications for the 2017-18 school year for grades K-8.   

We will continue to accept applications for grades 9, 10 and 11.

Please visit our website in the Fall for information about 2018-19 School Year Admissions and Prospective Parent Meetings.



How to apply for 9th-11th grade


Step 1:  Create a SchoolMint account

All applicants are required to create a SchoolMint account to submit their applications. CLICK HERE to start the application process. If you have more than one student that is applying, you only need to create one SchoolMint account and simply add the other students. If you already have a SchoolMint account, simply log into your account and add a new student.


Step 2:  Fill out application form (all applicants)

Fill out the online SchoolMint application form, parent nomination form, and self-nomination form.


Step 3:  Submit the body of evidence (upload required documents to application)

-If your student has an ALP (Advanced Learning Plan):


  • Upload the ALP to your student's application on SchoolMint.

What is an ALP? The Advanced Learning Plan (ALP) is an individualized plan for identified gifted students. The ALP is a record of programming options and academic or talent goals that support the Student’s strength area(s) and affective or behavioral needs. Through collaboration of the students, parents and school personnel, the ALP guides educational planning.


  • Upload 2 proofs of residency. The bills need to be tied to the house and need to be the most recent bills (ie. water, utility, mortgage, signed contract, rental lease agreement, cable, Internet). We cannot accept driver’s license, car registration, bank statements, or medical bills as proofs.

  • Upload Transcripts/Report Cards (6th-8th grade applicants only, including report card from this school year's fall semester)


-If you student does not have an ALP (Advanced Learning Plan), you will be required to submit the following as part of your SchoolMint application:

  • Upload all of your student’s transcripts from 6th grade to current grade.

  • Upload your student’s most recent standardized test score.

  • Upload 2 proofs of residency. The bills need to be tied to the house and need to be the most recent bills (ie. water, utility, mortgage, signed contract, rental lease agreement, cable, Internet). We cannot accept driver’s license, car registration, bank statements, or medical bills as proofs.

  • Pick up 2 teacher nomination forms from the Secondary School Front Office and have 2 different teachers fill out the forms (please see instructions on the envelope). Teachers are required to seal the envelope and completed forms need to be submitted to the school in the sealed envelope.

  • Submit the Gifted Profile (passion project) -upload in SchoolMint application or submit to the school-(The gifted student profile is an opportunity for applicants to show off who they are. Submit a passion project, research paper, video, artwork, recorded song, or any other creation of your own design that highlights your gifts).

  • Upload full scale IQ report (optional but may allow for a better chance to qualify) Please CLICK HERE for a list of testers and information on the tests that are accepted by Stargate. You are not required to use any of the testers listed on our website. You may use any licensed psychologist of your choice.



After submitting all the online forms, uploading required documents, and the teacher nomination form is received in our office, you will have completed your application. You will be notified by email when your application is complete.
