How to Apply

Stargate will begin accepting applications for the 2018-2019 school year on November 1st, 2017.

How to Apply- Kindergarten-8th grade


All applicants are required to obtain an IQ test before submitting an application.  This may be done prior to November 1st.  Please click here for a list of testers and information on the tests that are accepted by Stargate.  You are not required to use any of the testers listed on our website.  You may use any licensed psychologist of your choice. After you obtain the IQ report from the licensed psychologist, please follow the steps below (anytime between November 1st-February 1st).

 * If your child has taken an IQ test (Wechsler Intelligence Scales for Children version)  in the past, you may use the test for admissions.

**Your child MUST be 5 years old by 10/01/18 to be considered for Kindergarten or 6 years old by 10/01/18 to apply for first grade in the 2018-2019 school year.


Step 1:  Create a SchoolMint account

All applicants are required to create a SchoolMint account to submit their applications.  If you have more than one student applying, you only need to create one SchoolMint account and simply add the other students.  If you already have a SchoolMint account, simply log into your account and add a new student by clicking on the green “Add/Edit New Student Application”.


Step 2:  Fill out online application form  (Application will be available on November 1st)

Fill out the online SchoolMint application. The following documents are required and must be uploaded to the application:


  • Proof of residency- The bills need to be tied to the house and need to be the most recent bills (ie. water, utility, mortgage, signed contract, rental lease agreement, cable, Internet).  We can not accept driver’s license, car registration, cell phone bills, or medical bills as proofs.

  • IQ test - Full report (no screenshots are acceptable).


After uploading required documents and submitting the online application, you will be notified by email that you have successfully submitted your application.


No late applications will be accepted-the deadline is February 1, 2018 4:00 pm for receipt of completed applications.

How to Apply- 9th-12th grade


Step 1:  Create a SchoolMint account

All applicants are required to create a SchoolMint account to submit their applications.  If you have more than one student  applying, you only need to create one SchoolMint account and simply add the other students.  If you already have a SchoolMint account, simply log into your account and add a new student by clicking on the green “Add/Edit New Student Application”.


Step 2:  Fill out online application form and upload required documentation  (Application will be available on November 1st)

Fill out the online SchoolMint application form. All applicants will be required to upload 2 proofs of residency.The bills need to be tied to the house and need to be the most recent bills (ie. water, utility, mortgage, signed contract, rental lease agreement, cable, Internet).  We can not accept driver’s license, car registration, cell phone bills, or medical bills as proofs. Choose one of the three options below and upload required documentation to the application.


  • Option 1:  IQ Test- Full report (no screenshots are acceptable).

  • Option 2:  ALP  (Advanced Learning Plan)

-What is an ALP?  The Advanced Learning Plan (ALP) is an individualized plan for identified gifted students. The ALP is a record of programming options and academic or talent goals that support the Student’s strength area(s) and affective or behavioral needs. Through collaboration of the students, parents and school personnel, the ALP guides educational planning.


  • Option 3: Three Body of Evidence

                      1.Transcripts:

-Applying for 9th:  6th grade transcript, 7th grade transcript, and in progress grades for 8th grade.

-Applying for 10th-12th: all middle school transcripts, previous years high school transcripts, and in  progress grades for the current school year.


                      2. Most recent standardized test scores (CMAS, PARCC)

                      3. Student Passion Project:

-The passion project is an opportunity for applicants to show off who they are. Submit a passion project, research paper, video, artwork, recorded song, or any other creation of their own design that highlights their gifts).
