Frequent Questions and Answers

What is the minimum IQ score to qualify?

Qualification for Stargate is based on several parts to the application...not just the IQ score. There is not a set number.

When can my child get re-tested?

You have to wait a full calendar year before getting your child re-tested.

Do I need to use the testers listed on your website?

No. You may choose any licensed psychologist. The ones on our website are for your convenience.

If my child qualifies and is placed on the waitlist, do we have to reapply for the next school year?

No. If your student is on the waitlist and not offered a seat for the school year, you will receive a wait pool intent form asking if you want your student to remain on the waitlist for the following school year. If you choose for your student to remain on the waitlist, he/she will automatically roll into the lottery.

Does a wait listed applicant have priority over new applicants?

No. The lottery is new every year. Wait list applicants and new applicants are placed in the same lottery.

If one sibling gets offered a seat at the lottery, does the other sibling automatically get offered a seat?

No. The sibling must accept the seat offer first and then the sibling will move to the top of the wait list with other siblings (if applicable).

How do I know if my application is complete?

You will receive an email when all parts of the application have been received and verified.

How do I create a SchoolMint account?

CLICK HERE for information about creating a SchoolMint Account and the application process.

Can I drop off my forms?

No. The only forms that may be dropped off are the sealed teacher nomination form. All other forms are either done online or uploaded.

Are the prospective parent meetings and tours mandatory?

No. They are for your information only.

Can kids come to the prospective parent meeting or tours?

The meetings are geared for adults and can get boring for young children, so we suggest they do not come. If you need to bring your child, you might want to bring something to entertain him/her. The K-5 tours are for adults children allowed!
