A note to parents regarding Specials grades:
Specials grades differ from the academic courses in that students are more often graded primarily on participation, effort, focus and appropriate behavior as well as on a few specific assignments. If you have any questions about your child's progress, please contact the individual teacher.
For K-2 we have changed the way we give individual grades from points to letter grades. Please ignore the percentages displayed—they are meaningless.
Grading scales for Specials classes:
For K-2: For 3-8
H= High Achievement (for a gifted child) A= Excellent (for a gifted child)
S= Satisfactory (for a gifted child) B= Above Average (for a gifted child)
I= Insufficient (not improving) C= Average (for a gifted child)
N= Needs improvement (for a gifted child) D= Below Average (for a gifted child)
U= Unsatisfactory (for a gifted child) F= Unsatisfactory (for a gifted child)
