Dear Stargate Parents, Congratulations to everyone who participated in the 5-18 General Music concert. You did an amazing job!! For the remaining days...
Dear Stargate Parent, Here's are some suggestions on what your child should wear if they are performing in the May 18 general music concert:
WHAT TO WEAR -1st and 2nd graders can wear over-the-calf white socks (no stripes), dark shoes, football pants or solid colored pants rolled up (and pinned) at the knee (no shorts), long sleeved dress shirts (preferably white), and a vest (optional). Grades 1-2 (girls) can wear long dresses (preferably old-fashioned looking). If you don't have any of the above items, just dress nicely. -3rd and 4th graders can wear either solid colors (i.e. all black, all navy blue, all gray, etc.), or very fancy dress clothes as if you were a rich passenger on the Titanic (i.e. boys could wear suits, girls could wear long "old-fashioned dresses). If you don't have any of the above items, just dress nicely. -5th and 6th graders should dress up as the Sgt. Pepper characters they picked a few weeks ago. I will go over character dress up with them again this week. Unless they signed up to be a Beatle, Marlene Dietrich or Diana Dors (characters appearing in the front row), the costume they come up with only has to be from the neck up. If your child signed up to be an early Beatle in a black jacket, they should wear black pants, a white dress shirt and a solid black or dark tie. Four black jackets will be provided. If they signed up to be a multi-colored jacket Beatle, please make sure they wear dark pants and dark shoes. Four multi-colored jackets will be provided. Marlene Dietrich and Diana Dors costumes will have to be something students come up with on their own. Also, if your son or daughter has the part of Ed Sullivan, please slick their hair back and dress them up in a suit and tie.
Here, again, is the concert itinerary for the 5-18-10 concert in the multipurpose room:
May 18 at 6:30PM Huey & Martinac 1st and 2nd grade at 7:00PM Mcleod & Singer 3rd and 4th grade at 7:30PM 5-6 A&B (A hard copy list of the students I am seeing for these classes was sent home on 5-10-10).
IMPORTANT!!! ALL STUDENTS IN GRADES 1-4 SHOULD CHECK IN TO THEIR HOMEROOMS 15 MINUTES BEFORE THEY ARE SCHEDULED TO PERFORM. 5th and 6th grade students should check in to the hall outside room 123 at 7:20.
-There is no need to arrive earlier than check in time, unless you want to help with set up or see more than one part of the show. -When in the multipurpose room, students who are not performing should stay with their parents. -Students should leave all personal belongings with parents. -It's okay to leave when your portion of the concert is over. However, you are also welcome to stay. -Please do not enter or exit the multipurpose room during music numbers. -THANK YOU for your help!!
