Ariane O’Brien, a native of Buffalo, NY, is in her seventh year at Stargate as the Instrumental Music teacher. Prior to Stargate, she taught band from the fifth through the twelfth grades for three years in the Boulder Valley School District. Ariane earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance from the North Carolina School of the Arts and her Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction with a strand in Gifted and Talented from the University of Denver. In addition, she has two years of graduate study in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Colorado. Mrs. O’Brien is also the former music director of the Longmont Junior Youth Symphony and assistant conductor of the Timberline Symphony. She has also worked with the Longmont Youth Symphony, Musica Sacra, North Metro, and several other orchestras. In addition, Ariane was the Education Assistant at Opera Colorado and Marketing Assistant with the Colorado Music Festival. Mrs. O’Brien enjoys being a mom to her twin girls Natalie and Clare and dog, Guinness.
