What We Have Been Doing:
Math-
This week for Math we will work on learning how to use a thermometer and take temperatures. We will also explore more complex number stories. At the end of the week we will have our first math assessment in the first grade curriculum.
Theme-
We will continue learning about the African Savannah this week. We will focus on the culture of the people that live there as well as the different animals you would see if you traveled in the Savannah. By the end of the week, we will make our own Savannah habitat using paints and what we have learned.
Spirit Day and Pep Rally-
Tomorrow is crazy hair day. Students are also encouraged to wear their Stargate clothes or yellow and purple to show their school spirit. We will go to the pep rally in the afternoon.
Mardi Gras-
Mr. Johnson is coming in tomorrow to do a presentation on Mardi Gras. The students will also make Mardi Gras masks. We are looking forward to learning about this holiday! Thank you Mr. Johnson!
