What We Have Been Doing-
Math-
Last week we continued developing our skip counting skills. Students learned how to distinguish between a nickel and a penny, and began counting with nickels and pennies. We are still working with money this week. We will discover how to tell time on an analog clock, as well.
Theme
For theme last week we learned how heat moves from hot to cold. We also discussed how important it is too wear warm clothes during this time of the year. We found out how hats keep our bodies from losing heat. We also did some Christmas and Hanukah activities.
This week we will work with more Christmas activities and learn about other winter holidays.
Holiday Party
Our Holiday party will begin on Friday afternoon. Half day students will stay for the whole day so that they can participate in the fun. Please send a lunch or lunch money to class with them on Friday. Thanks to Mrs. Forrest, Mrs. Shriver and all the parent volunteers who are working on the party. We can't wait for the fun!
Winter Break
Winter Break will begin on Monday, December 24, and end on Friday, January 4. School will resume on January 7. Have a safe and happy holiday!
Conferences
If you would like to have a conference with me please fill out the request form in the Monday folders. The conferences are not mandatory so please don't feel obligated to schedule a conference. If you have any questions or concerns, please fill out the request form. If your conference form is not returned, I will assume you do not need a conference. You will have an opportunity to meet your child's literacy teacher and homeroom teacher at the conference.
Have a great week and if I don't get to see you, I hope you have a wonderful Winter Break!
