What We Are Doing:
Math- The students have explored the different Math Centers in the room. We are also reviewing our numbers and making a number book. This activity shows me whether or not the students know their numbers and it reinforces writing numbers. We will create a pattern museum later this week.
Literacy- We are working on our alphabet sounds and letters for literacy. Some students are learning their letters and sounds, while for others this is review. Some students are still meeting with Mrs. Lambrecht and showing me what they know.
Theme: For theme this week we are working on our All About Me Posters. We are also discussing how to make good choices in school and the qualities of a good student and a good teacher.

Curriculum Night- Curriculum night is on Monday, September 8th from 6:30p.m.-8:30p.m. You will meet with me to discuss Kindergarten homeroom, Math and Theme. Afterwards, you will have a chance to meet your child's literacy teacher. She will go over the literacy curriculum for your child. We hope to see you there!
Library- We are visiting the school library every other Friday. We will visit this week. If your child brought a library book home, please make sure that they return it by Friday, September 5th. Thanks!
Dress Code- Please note the dress code in our Community Handbook on page 29. Some students have come to school wearing tank tops with spaghetti straps. Please make sure your child is following the Adams 12 dress code.
Founders Conference- Please consider attending Stargate's Second Annual Founder's Conference. this conference is about gifted children, gifted education and Stargate. I attended last year and enjoyed the workshops and networking with parents. I will attend the conference again this year. If you are interested, you can visit the Stargate website and click on the Parents tab.
Share-
We will begin show and tell on Monday, September 8. We will follow the show and tell schedule throughout the year.
Students can share either an object or a story about something that happened to them away from school. The class will ask 3 questions about what they are sharing. I will model this to the class before September 5.

Birthdays
Last Friday, August 29, we celebrated Shivani's birthday. This month we have several birthdays. Liam's birthday is September 3rd, Evan's is September 12th, Mrs. Warga's birthday is September 16th, Jacquelynn's is on September 18th and Lucia's is on September 19th. If your child would like to celebrate their birthday with a treat for the class, please make sure you drop off the treat by 10:00a.m. on that day.
