What we are doing:
This week we will learn about our classroom. The students will learn about each center that is set up in the classroom. They will also learn about the rules for Kindergarten and Stargate. We will take a tour around the school. We are also learning about each other and how to be good friends. This is an important week in Kindergarten. The transition may be difficult for some students and easier for others; we will work with each child to make them as comfortable as we can with Kindergarten. Later in the week we will begin assessing students for Literacy groups.
Dismissal:
All full-day students need to be signed-out at the end of the day by a parent or guardian. Kindergarten dismissal will begin at 2:45pm, and at 1:15pm on Wednesdays. Parents will need to park in the church parking lot located just west of Stargate, then walk to the Kindergarten playground where you may sign your child out. Parents who have siblings in 1st and 2nd grade may have those students dismissed to the Kindergarten playground where you may also pick them up. If you have siblings in any other grade you must pick those students up in their designated area. Thank you!

Extra Clothes:
Accidents and spills happen occasionally and the kids feel much more comfortable if they have their own clothes to change into. If you would, please provide us with a change of clothes for your Kindergartner. As seasons change, you can swap them out for more seasonally appropriate clothes. Please put them in a large Ziploc type bag with the child's name on the outside.
Specials:
Our specials for the next six weeks are Music in the morning and Spanish in the afternoon.
