Mrs. Meril Amos was born and raised on a farm in central Kansas. Her undergraduate college years were spent at Kansas State University, where she received a B.A. in psychology and education. Her Masters in Counseling (school and community) was from Fort Hays State University. She has worked at various agencies- Social Services, a suicide hot line, a Mental Health Center, and a domestic violence task force. Meril has been a school counselor for seventeen years, at all levels- high school, middle school, and elementary. Meril and her husband lived in southwest Colorado for seventeen years, moving to Thornton three years ago. They have two daughters, one at the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, and one at CSU. This is her fourth year at Stargate and she loves gifted kids! They are so much fun; you never know what they will say!
