8th graders and their parents should plan to attend the High School Options Night on Tuesday, Oct 21, from 6:00-8:00.  We will have representatives from the Adams 12 high schools, plus a few others, to explain their schools and answer questions. This is a great opportunity to gather a lot of information in one night, to help make the important decision about what high school to attend.  Parents of 7th graders may also attend.  For students and parents that miss this evening, there will be a booklet about the schools available in the Counseling Office.

St Anthony's North Hospital will be offering some classes on maturation issues,designed for boys with their fathers and girls with their mothers . The boys class is Oct 23 and the girls class is Oct 14.  See the information in the documents section below.

 A SENG (Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted) parent discussion group will be starting soon.  This is a seven week group, meeting on Wednesday nights, starting Oct 22, from 6:30-8:00.  We will discuss characteristics of the gifted, motivation issues, underachievement, perfectionism, idependence, uniqueness, sensitivity, educational needs, parent and sibling relationships, and when to seek professional help.  This class helps parents gain a better understanding of their gifted children and provides tools to work with them more effectively.  It also provides a forum for sharing experiences with other parents of gifted children.  The result is more confidence and responsiveness for parents, validation and support for children, and a happier and better connected family!
