Middle School Mathematics, Stafford, December 03 - 07
Geometry:
We begin the week reviewing our chapter 5 test: Triangle Properties where the students began writing proofs. Our math journey continues in chapter 6 with the study of Polygon Properties. We seek to discover the sum of the angle measures in a polygon and the sum of the measures of a set of exterior angles of a polygon.
College Prep Algebra
Our week begins with turning in the Unit 4 homework packet. After going over this packet I will access the students. The next unit of study is titled: Numerical, Geometrical and Algebraic Ratios. The concept of ratio is useful in many aspects of our lives including fractions, percents and probabilities.
Integrated Algebra
On Friday the students took a Chapter 4 Basic Concepts test. We will review the basic concepts test, finish our study in the chapter and test the content within chapter 4. After the content test, the students will begin chapter 5, Solving Equations, which demonstrates different methods of solving equations.
Pre Algebra II
The week in Pre Algebra II begins by going over our chapter 4 test. Our next unit of study is Ratios, Measurements and Equivalent Fractions. The purpose of this chapter is for students to examine ratios and equivalent fractions to enhance their understanding of these concepts. This chapter lays the groundwork for chapter 6 where students write and solve proportions and chapter 7 where student use standard, formal operations with fractions.
