Middle School Mathematics, November 12 - 16
Geometry
This week in Geometry we will review the test over chapter 4: Line and Angle Properties. These concepts will be used in chapter 5: Triangle Properties. In Chapter 5 will seek to discover properties of triangles and conditions that guarantee that two triangles are congruent.
College Prep Algebra
This week in College Prep Algebra we are studying Chapter 4: Writing and Solving Equations. The primary goals are to learn how to solve linear equations and to extend the use of Guess and Check tables to writing equations. Additionally we are studying and understanding exponents as repeated multiplication.
Integrated Algebra
This week in Integrated Algebra we will review the quiz taken on Friday Nov 09. We are studying Chapter 4, Algebraic Sentences, whose main ideas are 1, order of operations, 2, the Distributive Property and 3, writing variable expressions and equations from Guess and Check tables. In this week’s lessons we apply the Distributive Property, evaluate variable expressions, and write expressions in factored form, distributed form, and simplified form.
Pre Algebra II
This week in Pre Algebra II the students are studying chapter 4 which focuses on the geometry vocabulary, areas and perimeters of polygons. This week’s lessons identify sub-problems to find areas of more complicated figures.
