Middle School Math, October 28 – November 02
As a result of recent assessments and to better fit each student’s needs, certain students’ schedules and math classes have been rearranged. This change is designed to give the students the appropriate level of challenge.

Geometry
We begin this week in Geometry with the results from the chapter 3 test where we made basic geometric constructions. Next is chapter 4: Line and Angle Properties. The students will use all major processes from the earlier chapters to perform geometric investigations and make conjectures about line and angle properties. Students will explore many of these line properties using coordinate geometry.

College Prep Algebra
This week in College Prep Algebra we finish unit 3. The students will explore families of equations and their graphs, with a focus on linear and quadratic functions. The student will understand the coefficients of these linear and quadratic functions and how they alter the graphs. The students’ unit 3 review packet is due on Friday.

Integrated Algebra
This week in Integrated Algebra we complete chapter three and assess our understanding. Our learning objectives include understanding and applying probability of independent events and understanding addition and multiplication of fractions through the use of rectangular area models. We also have reviewed order of operations, least common multiple and greatest common factor.

Pre Algebra II
This week in Pre Algebra II we will conclude chapter 3. Throughout this chapter we have studied word problems, mathematical Order of Operations, computations involving positive and negative integers, writing numerical expressions to represent situations and writing equivalent forms of fractions, decimals and percents. The students will test on this chapter and later begin chapter 4.
