Geometry

I look forward to seeing everyone during conferences.

This week in Geometry we continue chapter three, where the focus is teaching and using to tools of geometry: a compass and a straight edge.  We will learn to construct parallel lines and construct various geometric figures to reinforce our learning and understanding up to this point in the curriculum.

College Prep Algebra

I look forward to seeing everyone during conferences.

This week in College Prep Algebra we review the unit two test and begin the next unit.  Our objectives include graphing linear and quadratic equations and to estimate the intercepts of these equations.  In this study unit, the class will use the xy-coordinate system extensively.

Integrated Algebra

I look forward to seeing everyone during conferences.

This week in Integrated Algebra we will review the chapter two test.  Next we will begin chapter 3 which contains the following learning objectives:

  • To use ideas from probability to gain a new perspective on addition and multiplication of fractions
  • To build understanding of addition and multiplication of fractions through the use of rectangular area models
  • To review equivalent fractions and simplification of fractions
  • To review the relationship among fractions, decimals and percents

Pre Algebra II

I look forward to seeing everyone during conferences.

This week in Pre Algebra II we continue our work in chapter three.  One goal is to develop a deeper understanding of the relationship among fractions, decimals, and percents.  Given any one of these, we can find the remaining two.  The other primary learning objective is to determine the correct order of operations in expressions.
