Web page is under construction. All Class information is under Geometry Blog for now.
Geometry
This week in Geometry we conclude chapter two and I will assess the students’ understanding on Friday. This chapter serves as an introduction to Geometry and is rich in vocabulary and definitions. In the next chapter we create geometric constructions using a compass and a straight edge.
College Prep Algebra
This week in College Prep Algebra we continue unit two: area and sub-problems. The major learning objectives include understanding the concept of area, (not just memorization of formula), breaking larger problems into more manageable parts, as well as focusing on Order of Operations and the Distributive Property.
Integrated Algebra
This week in Integrated Algebra we continue our study of graphing equations and integer operations. We will investigate the x-axis and y-axis intercepts of linear equations. Second order numerical equations and parabola will be a focus of study. Additionally, computations with integers (addition, subtraction and multiplication) will be investigated to further our understanding.
Pre Algebra II
This week in Pre Algebra II we complete chapter two and I will test the students next Monday. The concepts this week include solving work problems and equations by working backwards. This involves using the inverse operation. The inverse of multiplication is division and vice versa. The inverse of addition is subtraction and vice versa.
