Middle School Mathematics, Stafford, Nov 10 - 14

 

Hello from Mr. Stafford’s math classroom!  This is the last week of the trimester. I do not accept extra credit during the last week of a trimester. Here is a look into my classroom this week.

 

This week in Integrated Algebra continue in the chapter called “Algebraic Sentences.” This week our focus of study will be order of operations, and the Distributive Property.

 

This week in College Prep Algebra, the students’ goal is to solve a system of two linear equations algebraically and graphically. I will assess these students on their algebra math skills to date.

 

This week in geometry we begin chapter five, the study of triangles. We discover triangle properties and conditions that guarantee that two triangles are congruent. Some triangle properties we explore are interior and exterior angle sums and inequality relationships among the sides and angles of a triangle.

 

This week in Algebra II we continue the unit on quadratic equations. This week the students will find common and binomial factors of quadratic expressions and factor quadratic expression by factoring and by finding the square roots.
