Middle School Mathematics, Stafford, Feb 25 - 29

 

This week in Geometry we are studying the Pythagorean Theorem as well as a number of related conjectures. We will practice simplifying square roots and study the special properties of 30-60 right triangles, 45- 45 right triangles.

 

In College Prep Algebra this week we will begin our next unit of study and test over the prior unit involving lopes, linear equations, system of equations and understanding the relationship between linear graphs and equations. In unit 8 we will improve our understanding of quadratics:  factoring, special products, combining terms and the relationship between graph and equations of quadratics.

 

This week in Integrated Algebra we will finish our chapter in fractions, percents and formulas. I will administer a test this week to the students over this and prior material. The next chapter includes the Pythagorean Theorem, surface area and volume.

 

This week in Pre Algebra II we conclude chapter 7 and will test our understanding of the concepts. This chapter’s concepts included computations with fractions and decimals. Time permitting we will being the next unit of study which involves geometry, angles, writing and solving equations, as well as practice using distributive property, commutative property, associative property and the identity property.
