Middle School Mathematics, Stafford, January 14 - 18

I look forward to seeing you and meeting with you during conferences this week.
Here is what is happening during classes.

Geometry:
This week in Geometry we are near the middle of chapter 7: properties of circles to the students. Our learning objectives are to discover the relationship between the circumference of a circle and the length of its diameter. This relationship defines the number pi. Additionally we will prove that the diagonals of a isosceles trapezoid are congruent.

College Prep Algebra
This week in College Prep Algebra we near the middle of Unit 6: Graphing and Systems of Linear Equations. This week the students focus on solving linear systems by graphing & substitution and applying linear systems of equations.
Additionally I will quiz the students on concepts including but not limited to x-y intercepts, percents, solving for unknown, and identifying graphs & equations.

Integrated Algebra
This week in Integrated Algebra, we are in the middle of Chapter 6: Ratios and Proportions. This week we study and discover the relationship between a circle’s circumference and the diameter. Additionally we will study similar figures and discover that the ratio of corresponding sides are proportional.

Pre Algebra II
The week in Pre Algebra II we near the middle of chapter 6: Ratio and Proportion. Our learning objectives this week are to use ratio table to find percents, to use proportions and maps to estimate distances and to explore basic probabilities.
