Hello from Mr. Stafford’s math classroom! Here’s wishing all of you a Happy Thanksgiving!
Integrated Algebra
This week in Integrated Algebra our objective is to write algebraic expressions from word problems. Additionally we will practice order of operations problems and the distributive property.
College Prep Algebra
This week in College Prep Algebra, we explore the concept of ratio id depth. We will reduce geometric figures and examine geometric ratios. The problems are designed to familiar the students with perimeter and area ratios when a figure is enlarged or reduced.
Geometry:
This week in geometry we continue chapter five, the study of triangles. These two days the students will seek to deepen their understanding of the triangle properties, triangle congruency shortcuts, and coordinate geometry concepts.
Algebra II
This week in Algebra II we continue...

Hello from Mr. Stafford’s math classroom! Welcome to a new trimester. Here is what will happen in my classroom this week.
Integrated Algebra
This week in Integrated Algebra continue in the chapter called “Algebraic Sentences.” This week our focus of study will be order of operations, and the Distributive Property. Further I will continue to assess the students on skills we have covered this year.
College Prep Algebra
This week in College Prep Algebra, we conclude unit 4 where our main goals have been to solve linear equations, write algebraic expressions and use the distributive property. I will assess the students on these and prior concepts later this week.
Geometry:
This week in geometry we continue chapter five, the study of triangles. This week our focus is on discovering if triangles are congruent or not. We begin geometric proofs to state why certain triangles are congruent.

Hello from Mr. Stafford’s math classroom! This is the last week of the trimester. I do not accept extra credit during the last week of a trimester. Here is a look into my classroom this week.
Integrated Algebra
This week in Integrated Algebra continue in the chapter called “Algebraic Sentences.” This week our focus of study will be order of operations, and the Distributive Property.
College Prep Algebra
This week in College Prep Algebra, the students’ goal is to solve a system of two linear equations algebraically and graphically. I will assess these students on their algebra math skills to date.
Geometry:
This week in geometry we begin chapter five, the study of triangles. We discover triangle properties and conditions that guarantee that two triangles are congruent. Some triangle properties we explore are interior and exterior angle sums and inequality relationships among the...

Hello and Happy November from Mr. Stafford’s math classroom! Here is a look at what will be happening in my class room this week.
Integrated Algebra
This week in Integrated Algebra the class begins the unit of study called “Algebraic Sentences.” The three main ideas are 1, order of operations, 2, the Distributive Property and writing variable expressions and equations from word problems. Additionally we will further our understanding of combining like terms.
College Prep Algebra
This week in College Prep Algebra, the students’ goal is to represent word problems with algebraic expressions. They will learn to solve linear equations and learn about variable expressions.
Geometry:
This week in geometry we conclude chapter five on lines and equations. We seek to bring together many concepts about triangles (altitudes, medians, angle bisectors, perpendicular bisectors) linear equations...

Hello and Happy Halloween from Mr. Stafford’s math classroom! Here is a look at what will be happening in my class room this week.
Integrated Algebra
This week in Integrated Algebra I will assess the students over the material in chapter three. The topics include probability, the situational relationship of probability and fractions, finding the probability of independent events using fractions and multiplication and prior material from previous chapters.
College Prep Algebra
This week in College Prep Algebra, the students will test on unit 3. The students will demonstrate using patterns and organized data tables to draw graphs and solve problems, exploring the xy-coordinate system and families of equations and their graphs. We will also begin unit 4 where our learning objectives include writing and solving problems involving linear equations.
Geometry:
This week in geometry we continue our work with lines and angles. We study the relationship of the slopes of parallel and perpendicular lines, the equations of lines, and finding the intersection of lines. I will administer assessment(s) to the students on concepts covered in chapter 4.

Hello from math land! Here is a look at what will be happening in my class room this week.
Integrated Algebra
This week in Integrated Algebra study probability and the situational relationship of probability and fractions. We seek to understand finding the probability of independent events using fractions and multiplication.
College Prep Algebra
As we continue our work in chapter 3 this week we focus on families of equations and their graphs. The students will begin recognize equations and predict their graphs. We continue to deepen our understanding of multiplication using exponents both positive and negative.
Geometry:
This week in geometry we will use our acquired skills from prior chapters to perform geometric investigations and make conjectures about line and angle properties. The students will explore many of these line properties using coordinate geometry. Additionally I will assess the students on their algebra skills relating to this chapter such as properties of midpoints, slopes of parallel and perpendicular lines, and intersection of lines.

Hello all! Here’s what we are doing in my classes this week:
Integrated Algebra
This week in Integrated Algebra we will conclude chapter 2 and test over this material. The test will include arithmetic operations with positive and negative integers, absolute value, order of operations, solving equations for unknown variables, evaluations, determining the algebraic rule given a table of values, linear equations, graphs and more. Additionally we will begin chapter 3 which focuses on probability and fractions.
College Prep Algebra
This week in College Prep Algebra we will work in unit 3. Here we have the opportunity to use patterns and organized data tables to draw graphs and solve problems, explore the xy-coordinate system and explore families of equations and there graphs. I will also demonstrate use and functions of the graphing calculator relating to graphs and functions.

Hello all! Here’s to our Team Building at Cheley Camp this week!
Here are the activities in my classroom on Monday and Tuesday this week.
Integrated Algebra
This week in Integrated Algebra we near the completion of chapter 2. We have studied integer operations, (linear) algebraic pattern and graphs. On Monday and Tuesday we will use number families and patterns to formalize the rules for division of integers.
College Prep Algebra
This week in College Prep Algebra we will review the unit 2 test on Monday. Next we begin unit 3 in which students apply their patterning skills to graphing equations, especially linear and quadratic. The learning objective is for the students to understand that graphs have many different shapes.
Geometry:
This week short week in geometry we will begin our study involving triangles and the points of concurrency created from angle bisectors, perpendicular...

Welcome student and families. I look forward to seeing you this week during parent conferences.
Integrated Algebra
This week in Integrated Algebra first we will review last weeks quiz covering word problems, integer operations and graphs in the coordinate plane. This week we focus on one, understanding subtraction of integers as addition of the opposite and two, understanding multiplication as repeated addition.
College Prep Algebra
This week in College Prep Algebra I assess the students over the concepts covered in Chapter 2: area and sub-problems. The main topics have been area, the distributive property and number manipulation. Our study of area encourages the students to break larger complex figures into manageable sizes.
Geometry:
This week short week in geometry we will begin compiling a list of geometric conjectures bases on inductive reasoning. Additionally we use the basic geometry tools (compass, straight edge and pencil) to duplicate lines and angles, bisect lines and angles, and create perpendiculars from a point to a line.
