Middle School Mathematics, Stafford, Mar 31 – April 04
Hello and welcome back from spring break! Here’s information on my classes this week.
Geometry:
This week in Geometry we are studying volume and discovering the formulas for prisms, cones, cylinders, and spheres. Furthermore, we investigate displacement and density of solids. I will continue to give the students practice on a variety of concepts including exponents, radicals and coordinate geometry.

Hello, and welcome to our second week of CSAP and the week prior to spring break.
Geometry:
This week in Geometry I will assess the students over concepts relating to the Pythagorean Theorem. Next we will study volume, discover formulas for finding the volume of prisms, pyramids, cylinders, cones and spheres. The surface of spheres will be introduced as well as density concepts.

Geometry:
This week in Geometry we are studying the Pythagorean Theorem as well as a number of related conjectures. We will practice simplifying square roots and study the special properties of 30-60 right triangles, 45- 45 right triangles.
College Prep Algebra
In College Prep Algebra this week we will begin our next unit of study and test over the prior unit involving lopes, linear equations, system o ...

Geometry:
This week in Geometry we focus and discover formulas and conjectures related to the concept of area. We use these formulas and conjectures to solve word problems and applications problems. Our goals this week are to discover formulas for finding areas of rectangles, parallelograms, triangles, trapezoids, kites, regular polygons, and circles.

No school for the students on Friday February First!
Next Math Counts Competition: Feb 09, 2008
Geometry:
This week in Geometry we begin with student presentations on their math history projects and finding the length of an arc of a circle. After a review, I will assess the students on their understanding of chapter 7: Circles. Topics include central angles, inscribed angles, tangents, chords, secants, radius, diameter, circumference ...
