Take a look at what is going on in my classroom.

By Stephen Pegler on Friday, September 28, 2007

This week we will begin our study of motion,  including velocity and acceleration.  This will lead to the study of forces and potential and kinetic energy in a few weeks.  This week I have planned a review of last week's test, a lecture or two, a video and a lab.  Please check out the links that are on the bottom right of my blog page.  Links to the homework given out this week will be under the documents: homework tabs.  The due date for it is Thursday, November 1.  There will be more added to this assignment along the way, however.  There should be enough books to check out beginning tomorrow.

This week I also hope that we can sort out missing IN CLASS work.  Since students haven't had a chance to be notified which assignments are missing, I won't penalize them until after this week for IN CLASS WORK ONLY.

Please fill out your conference re ...

Please don't forget the October count for the school.  That's this week and next.  Please make every effort to be here.

This week we wrap up the material we've been studying: metrics, measurement, density, viscosity, and scientific method.  Monday is a planned in class work on homework day.  Both hw assignments are due on Thursday.

There will be a test on Friday over the material we have been studying.  Tuesday is scheduled as a review and catch up day.

Our next area of study will be motion: acceleration, velocity, speed, momentum.

NJHS application materials need to be returned by October 1.

The next item describes a community service opportunity for our students as well as a chance for them to learn more about anatomy.  For further information, please download the files about the Gait Development on my website.  We were hoping to try and do t ...

This week we will be working on labs that relate to measurement, viscosity, and density.  The students will make graphs and analyze them.  They will devise ways of comparing the viscosity of various oils and use the density of items to identify them.  A few students have not yet turned in their Science Safety Agreements or Class Policies sheets.  Please check with your child and see if he or she has turned them in.  Technically, no one can do the labs until they have turned the Safety Agreement.

I know that you can't see the grades your children have - but be assured that they have them!  I have six grades for most students.  Students who have lower than a B are missing items.

I have posted class information.  This information includes information on the textbooks that the students will be using.  Please read it carefully.

If you wish to access the online Intro t ...
