What a great week we had last week! Students wrote about the heroes from their summer reading and compared them to a modern day hero. These writings went through several revisions. If first glance and the final product is any indication, this is going to be great year for writing.
Last week we also decided to move the vocabulary to Wednesdays.
This week, we start off on Tuesday with another writing assignment. In your writing journals, write about the characters, plot, setting, conflict and your opinion of the novel that you read over the summer. These should be in paragraph form, not bullets, but the paragraphs do not have to be connected with transitions, etc. When you discuss the character, include only the significant characters and be sure to include a quote either by or about them that reveals something about their personality. Also include who you think is the protagonist and antagonist.
Wednesday, we have the vocabulary quiz and homework is due.
Thursday, please bring your index cards. We will be taking about literary terms.
Friday, hopefully, we will get to the grammar that we didn't get to last week.
