Monday 12/10 - There were some changes to the schedule at the end of last week. The students needed more time to work on their immigration project so I delayed the Progressive Era Press Conference and had the students present their immigration projects today.
Tuesday 12/11 - Students started the Progressive Era Thinkers Press Conference Project. I explained the project expectations and assigned roles. If you missed class see Ms. Posateri for a group assignment.
Wed. 12/12 - Community Time, Workshop, and WAC
In community my small group will launch the "Birthday in a Box" project. Stargate students are working with Thronton IB students to collect birthday supplies for kids in foster care or in shelters who can not afford to have a birthday party. This project will launch today and run until Feb. 2nd.
In workshop students are working with Turn of the Century Political Cartoons.
In WAC students are working in their teams on their formal presentation.
Thursday 12/13 and Friday 12/14 - Students will have both class periods to prepare for the Progressive Era Press Conference on Monday.
Monday 12/17 - Students will debate social, political, and environmental issues from the 19th and 20th Century in a press conference.
Tuesday 12/18 - Debrief press conference and watch a documentary about the Women's Suffrage Movement.
Wed. 12/19 - Community, Workshop, and WAC
Thursday 12/20 - Documentary on the Women's Suffrage Movement
Friday 12/21 - Shortened schedule to accommodate the Holiday Party. There will be an end of Unit reflection but no test.
Summary: There will be no homework over the next two weeks. All work will be done in class. The majority of class time will be on the Progress Era Press Conference. There will be no homework over the Holiday Break. I'm working hard to get grades for 2nd Trimester in before the end of the week! Expect to see grades for Chapter 14 Homework, the Assembly Line Simulation, The Immigration Project, and the Unit 4 Quiz by Friday or Monday next week. If you have any feedback about grades, power school, or homework please email me!
Have a great break and a wonderful New Year!
