Monday 11/3- Students will continue to work on the Immigration Power Point Project in class. Groups worked on this last Thursday and Friday in class and should be approximately 95% done by the end of class on Monday.
Students will be assigned a study sheet for the quiz on Thursday. Homework is to prepare for the quiz using the study sheet. The study sheet is posted to the documents section of my blog.
Tuesday 11/4 - Students will have the first 25 minutes of class to complete the Immigration Project slide show and then all groups will present for 5 minutes.
Wed. 11/5-Community/Workshop/Elective
Community Time - In the morning the whole group will meet as a community for good of the order announcements. After the whole group meeting students will break off into smaller community groups to work on their service project. Ms. Posateri's service project is to make birthday boxes for students living in shelters or foster care who can not afford to have a birthday party.
Workshop - After community students will break off for workshop. Ms. Posateri's workshop is on Political Cartoons about Immigration at the Turn of the Century.
Elective - After Lunch students will meet for their elective. Ms. Posateri will review the Collaborative Question (EQ) from last week and students will go to the computer lab to research Global Health Issues.
Thursday 11/6 - Students will take a quiz on Chapters 12 - 14 and then will begin a simulation of a Presidential Debate between Roosevelt, Taft, and Wilson discussing the Progressive Age. Students will also discuss Presidential Debates of 2007 - 2008. Ms. Posateri will assign Chapter 16 or Chapter 17 as homework for students to prepare for the Presidential Debate.
Friday 11/7 - Students will be preparing for the Progressive Era Presidential Debate. The actual debate will be in class on Monday 12/10.
Summary - The homework on Monday 12/3 is to study for the Unit 4 Quiz over Chapters 12 - 15. On Thursday there will be a homework assignment on Chapter 16 or 17 covering the Progressive Era. I still need to determine which work will best prepare students for the Presidential Debate Activity.
There will be a test before the Holiday Break on Era 2, "Industrialism and Reform 1840 -1920". There will not be any American History Homework over the two week Holiday Break!
Have a wonderful week! Ms. Posateri
