Happy Halloween From Ms. Posateri!
Homework for the Week: The Era 1 test is this Friday November 2nd. The homework assignment for the week is to use the study guide outline, handed out in class, to create a study sheet for the test. The study guide outline is also attached to the documents section of my blog. In class on Monday I will give students tips on how to study for this exam and explain expectations for the study sheet.
Monday 10/29 - In class today students will complete the video lecture on Reconstruction and begin reviewing the key content terms from Chapter 11 on Reconstruction. The essential question for this lesson is "How was the nation's commitment to its founding ideals of equality, rights, democracy, opportunity, and liberty tested during Reconstruction?"
Students will begin an activity analyzing political cartoons from the Reconstruction Era. They need to understand the video lecture and terms from Chapter 11 to complete the political cartoon activity. They will be learning key social studies skills for analyzing political cartoons.
Tuesday 10/30 - Students will continue and complete the activity on Reconstruction that they began Monday and go over sample questions from the test to review question structure and test taking strategies.
Wednesday 10/31 - There will be Community Time and Elective in the morning and a Halloween Party in the afternoon. There will not be a Workshop this week.
Thursday 11/1 - Students will play American History Jeopardy to review for the Era 1 Test.
Friday 11/2 - Students will take the Era 1 Test and hand in their Study Guide. There will be approximately 75 multiple choice questions and two - five short answer questions.
Good Luck studying and have a great week!
