2/18 Monday - No School President's Day

2/19 Tuesday - Student's are working on a project for African American History month about the Harlem Renaissance.  They are analyzing the themes in literature, music, and art from African American artists during the 1920s Harlem Renaissance. 

2/20 - Wednesday

*During workshop students have a guest speaker from DU on Manga and Japanese Literature.

*During Elective WAC students have their DRESS REHERSAL!  Each team is expected to read through their script.

2/21 - Thursday

Students will be working on Chapter 29, "The Clash between Traditionalism and Modernism in the 1920s."  The essential question for the chapter is, "How did social, economic, and religious tensions divide Americans during the Roaring Twenties?"

*Students Acrostic Poems are due in class today!

2/22 - Friday

Students will continue working on Chapter 29 reading.

Summary:  I will have a substitute in class on Thursday while I take students to the Capital Building for the CAGT Legislative Shadowing Day.  Seven 7th and 8th Grade students from Stargate were selected to attend after writing a short essay on a question they have for a legislator.  There will be no new homework assigned this week.  Students Acrostic Poems on the 1920s and written summary of their work is due in class on Thursday 2/21, this assignment was given last Tuesday.  All students are aware of the expectations and deadline.
