Hello Stargate Community,
This week will be a short week due to conferences. Monday 1/21 is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and Denver has a really great parade at 8:30AM starting at City Park. In addition, there are many different service projects going on around the state due to the fact that this is a national service day. I've attached links below that provide information on the parade and service projects. If you participate in any of these on MLK Day events you can earn extra credit for Social Studies! Parents...I will go over these opportunities with the students in class on Tuesday, if you have any questions about how to get involved please let me know. I will be at the parade on Monday so I hope to see you at City Park!
Monday 1/14 - Homework on Chapter 20 is due today. Students will have the class period to work on their presentation on foreign policy prior to World War I.
Tuesday 1/15 - Students will present their country that they worked on in class Friday and Monday. They will be assigned a homework to do over conference and MLK day break.
Wed. 1/16- There will only be community and elective time today. Students are released at 11:30 so we've decided to cut out workshop.
Wed 1/16 - Friday 1/18 - Students are not in class due to conferences. See the conference schedule from Dr. Pegler for your appointment time. If you can not make conferences and have a question about this course please email me so that I can answer any of your questions or concerns.
Monday 1/21 - No School for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, see the extra credit opportunities below and get involved in making a difference in your community.
Martin Luther King Parade
Billed as the largest Martin Luther King Jr. march in the United States, this annual event draws upward of 30,000 participants, gathering at City Park and proceeding to Civic Center Park for a rally. See the link below for information about the parade and the many service projects going on around the state on that day. If students attend the parade or any of the service projects it will count as extra credit for social studies!
