THEME: This week we have the pleasure of working with a set of rocks, minerals and fossils on loan to Stargate from the Colorado School of Mines. This week, students will finish their final piece for their Geology Portfolios. This compilation of 10 assignments will stay in the portfolio for the year. We will also continue to learn about another key content area for the trimester – the ancient Maya. We will learn about their geography, culture, religion, art, architecture, food, clothing, games, recreation, and language, as well as other topics. Students will work on their Maya ABC books. We will also talk about this year’s election during our Wednesday workshop, and write a letter to the President.
