LANGUAGE ARTS: We are well underway with two writing projects. Students should be through about 2/3 of the way through their semester book at this time. We discussed the 5-paragraph essay on Thursday of last week. Students can begin writing as soon as they have completed their books. We are also working daily on the themed children's books (Fall, Halloween, or Thanksgiving). These will be illustrated and shared with younger Stargate students later this month.
MATH: We will be working from Module 5 in the textbook this week. This will be supplemented with homework on Tuesday and Thursday nights. In addition to the book, we will introduce variables. The students are looking forward to this!
THEME: This week we will continue to study matter. We will be learning more about the reasons behind the American Revolution, specifically examining the French & Indian War. Look for details about the 1st trimester project as well as a sign-up sheet for our Halloween party in this week's Monday folder.
