LANGUAGE ARTS:  We have finished reading The Secret School as a group. This week, the remaining projects will be presented during class. On Tuesday, we will have the "treasure hunt" that we did not have time for last week. On Wednesday, students will receive their first book report project list. They will have the opportunity to select one of ten novels as well as one of twenty projects. We will be working on Spelling Packet #18 this week.
MATH:  Students are busy applying their critical thinking and group cooperation skills to math class. In addition to work in the textbook, we will review area and probability via worksheet. We will have our first notebook check on Friday, October 5th. Please note that you will be asked to review the notebook with your child on the 4th, and sign a feedback sheet we will staple into notebooks.
THEME: The students did a great job presenting their hanger projects. I was impressed by the depth and variety of their inventions. This week, we will begin to study matter. Students will need to conduct a few experiments at home. This work will go home with them on Tuesday and is due on Thursday. We will also continue to learn about important people and places of the Revolutionary War
