Students will learn their placements for Literacy and Math on Wednesday, September 3rd. We will begin Lit and Math classes on the 4th. Now that assessment testing is complete, we will begin Theme in earnest. We have already begun to learn about the supercontinent (Pangaea) and layers of the Earth. We will continue to add more geology terms to our vocabulary as we work on the geologic time scale and other topics. Remember that Scholastic book orders are due on September 2nd.

We have started to talk about our initial Theme topics. Ask your child about the game he/she designed with a partner for our Globe Games. We will also start to talk about geology and the geologic time scale. Do you have expertise in this area? Please send me an e-mail to schedule a classroom guest speaker visit!
