LANGUAGE ARTS: Welcome back from the Winter Break! This week, we will return to class with the introduction of Literature Circles. Students will learn about the important jobs and roles they will take on as members of small groups. We will begin to read our literature circle novels, The Time Bike and The Last Treasure Map. We will also have a vocabulary packet this week, due on Friday.
MATH: Welcome back from Winter Break! We left off playing the student-created math games with Mrs. Root's math class. This week, students will each have the opportunity to present their work to the class and to "sell" their game, based on the rubric provided to the students in early December.
THEME: We continue with our Dear America book that begins in Valley Forge in 1777 as a read-aloud. The students are having fun identifying people and places they have learned about. We will also explore the impact of favorite inventions, with mini presentations on Friday.
