LANGUAGE ARTS: Welcome back from Spring Break! During class this week, we will continue our exploration of From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E.Frankweiler. Students will complete their group "Artifact Museum" pieces for chapters 1-4 early in the week. We will also use The Great Art Scandal to learn about important works of art, and take a virtual tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Check my calendar for reading assignments!
MATH: Welcome back from Spring Break! We have had a great time learningabout the stock market while playing the Stock Market Game, an onlineactivity provided by the Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News. Did you miss a CSAP due to absence or illness? Please keep in mind that CSAPs will be made up the week following Spring Break. Students may be pulled from their classes to make up these tests. Please make sure that adequate sleep and nutrition have been given priority!

Congratulations to all of the students who participated in this excellent theatrical production. The play featured many 5/6 students. Our homeroom participants included Bailey as Dorothy, Dede as the tin woodsman, and Jorden as a winged monkey. Congratulations on a great performance!

LANGUAGE ARTS: We have CSAP testing on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday of this week. During class on Wednesday and Friday, we will begin new literature circles with From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. We will also use The Great Art Scandal to learn about important works of art.
MATH: We have CSAP testing on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday of this week. During class on Wednesday and Friday, we will continue to work on Module 6 concepts. Please research and be able to recommend a stock pick on Wednesday!

Greetings! I am spending the better part of class on Thursday and Friday talking with students about CSAP strategies and going over examples from released CSAP test questions. For this reason, there is not going to be homework here at the end of the week in my classes.

Can you believe it is already time for the 3rd trimester to begin? Please take a few minutes to review the needs of your student. At this time of year, new notebooks and fresh pencils are often needed!

LANGUAGE ARTS: Our vocabulary test has been rescheduled for Friday, February 29th. The test will be matching, covering the 50 words we have studied so far this year. We made study cards last week, and students should spend about 20 minutes reviewing these words each night. We will also spend time in literature circles this week, as the end of trimester approaches on Friday.
MATH: Students are working with partners to solve a "Bike Trip" problem. Students will be presenting their solutions during class this week. We will begin working in Module 6, and there will be homework on practice problems from the book a couple of days this week.
