LANGUAGE ARTS: As a reminder, I have moved the vocabulary test to February 27th. This should help relieve some of the pressure for the students and allow them to do their best work on all upcoming assignments. We will make study cards in class this week. The quiz will be matching, covering the 50 words we have studied so far this year. Students will have time to work on the trimester research report in class this week. Be sure to check my calendar for due dates. The rough draft was due today (Tuesday). Several students did not have their rough draft in class and were unable to participate in peer editing today. These students are missing out on valuable feedback not only from me, but also from their peers. Please check in with your student and ask to see his/her rough draft. The typed copy is due Monday the 25th. Extra credit is available for those who turn it in on Friday the 22nd. All aspects of the projec ...

Our field trip budget includes guest speakers. To recap, we had a Revolutionary War re-enactment soldier in full military costume and with weaponry come to the school in October to speak with all of the 5/6. In November, with KSS and Thanksgiving we did not do any other field trips. In January, the DMNS did an incredible presentation for each class about the circulatory system and the heart. Students witnessed a heart dissection firsthand. In February, we are going to the Hall of Life at the museum. We don't usually go on a trip in March due to CSAP and spring break. In April, we are going to go on two trips. The same is true of May. We also have guest speakers in April for "The Talk" (reproduction) for sixth gr ...
