Hi all!! We had a great day today.  We spent some time getting to know our classroom and where things are located within the room.  Tomorrow we will begin the ERB testing as well as getting to know each other with some activities.  We will do many "getting to know you" type of activities to build a strong community within our room.  Parents - hopefully you have seen your homework (parent - child questions, new internet permission form, the book lending agreement, and the notecard) and your kiddo has let you know the due date (Friday).  I know it's a little early for book orders however there we some great books in this month's orders so I decided to start with them today.  Orders are due on Sept. 3.  You can turn in orders anytime between now and then.  If you are going to write a check, please make them out to Scholastic Book Clubs not to myself or the school.  We have our dates for Keystone Science School - we will be going with Ms. Embry's class Oct. 29-31.  We will be tired but still able to Trick-or-Treat.   I will be looking for volunteers so if you think you might be available, please let me know.  One more thing, since our lunch is so early in the day, we will be having a healthy snack at 1:30.  Healthy means that sugar is not one of the first five ingrediants and it is not fried.  Ask your kiddo for examples if you aren't sure we talked about several today in class.

It was a wonderful day and I'm looking forward to a great rest of the week.
