Hello and welcome to the middle of May! The days are really flying by and I think we're all thrilled to have the warm weather! This week we'll continue to learn about the adventures of Lewis and Clark. We're reading primary and secondary sources about their incredible trip. The students handed in their journals for the first round of grading and I look forward to reading their observations. In addition, we'll continue to work with plant vocabulary. This week we’ll continue to work with the Louisiana Purchase and the adventures of Louis and Clark. This morning we were welcomed into our classroom with the lovely view of our growing garden! We’ll discuss the parts of a flower and conduct a flower dissection this week. We’ll also have an important visitor at the end of the week who will work with our nature journaling activities.

I believe that my theme class should be the poster children for our "project based curriculum". I have been nothing short of AMAZED by their final projects for the Brain and Nervous System! I'm also incredibly excited about our new curriculum! This week in science, we'll plant a "mystery garden".
