Conference Week/KSS
By Rebecca Ball on 10/10/2007

Hello! Welcome to conference week. I've already started meeting with parents and this has been a powerful experience! This is a great opportunity to have all the teachers, parents, and students working together in order to create successes! I've encouraged all my students to come as well. I told them that if five people were sitting around talking about me, I'd want to be there .

Keystone Science School is fast approaching. The Adams 12 medical forms are due by October 22nd. Please try and return all paper work that is associated with KSS by that date. An information packet with a list of gear requirements went home in the Monday Folders this week. Please sit down with your child to look the information over.

By Rebecca Ball on 9/26/2007

I wanted to thank all the parents who were able to attend curriculum night. You all had excellent questions about Keystone Science School and while I'm still working on some of your questions, here is what I have discovered so far:

Theme This Week
By Rebecca Ball on 9/23/2007

THEME: We continue to work with inventions and will create some invisible ink and hanger inventions this week. We’re also working with matter and have conducted whole class and independent experiments. This week, we will finally begin to work with The Revolutionary War in some detail. I’ve sent students home with library permission slips if you are comfortable with having your child read mature literature please sign this and send it back in. If not, please disregard the slip altogether.

October Count
By Rebecca Ball on 9/20/2007

Between September 24th and October 8th we'll be conducting attendance counts. It is incredibly important that all students be present at school during this time. Please let your students know how important their attendance is for both personal and school-wide successes. There will be additional information on this time period in the Star Newsletter.

Theme:

You may have noticed a pile of "gloop" in your home. This is representative of an in-between matter state. The students continue to work with matter and have conducted a number of experiments in relation to the topic. We'll also work more with inventions and you should see some invisible ink and coat hanger inventions coming home soon.
