We have a field trip this Thursday, October 16th to the Water Treatment Plant!!!  Please send you student with a completely disposable sack lunch.

Halloween is quickly approaching.  This year K-6 students will be allowed to wear their costumes all day.  We will be having a Halloween Parade at a TBD time.  Masks will ONLY be allowed DURING the Halloween parade.  Please note that all costumes must meet dress code policies and that professional sports attire WILL be allowed on Halloween.  Weapons are NOT allowed.

The weather is beginning to change and one can definitely feel Autumn in the air, especially in the morning.  Please make sure you child is coming to school dressed appropriately for the weather.  As long as the temperature is above 20 degrees, we will be going out to recess.  It's better to take a coat off and put it on the blacktop during recess than to not have one to begin with.  Also, please make sure that you child is wearing socks as the weather gets colder.  Thank you!!

Thank you to everyone for getting the salt dough to school on Wednesday!  We have made our maps and are waiting a week, so that they can dry.  We will paint them next week, label them when the paint is dry and then they will come home!

Coming this week (10/13-10/17):
  • Continue learning about water:  adhesion, cohesion, surface tension and capillary action
  • Experiments showing the different properties of water
  • Painting our salt dough maps (provided they are dry enough)
  • Field Trip:  Water Treatment Plant
  • Landform/River test on Friday, October 17th!!!
  • Continue putting together our Colorado symbols book (this is an ongoing, in class project)
Highlights from the past week:
·          Continued coloring Colorado symbols for our symbol books
·          Took notes and discussed "capillary action" in water
·          Made our salt dough topographical maps of Colorado
·          Took water cycle test on Thursday
·          Continued working on landforms in our My Colorado books
