We are going to Dinosaur Ridge on Thursday, 9/18. Please pack a completely disposable sack lunch for your student! We will be leaving around 9:00am and returning around 1:30 pm. Please make sure you student is wearing his/her tennis shoes for the field trip!
Our state test including Colorado and the surrounding states and the urban corridor is on Wednesday, 9/17.
There is no school on Friday, 9/19. Have a fabulous long weekend!
Due to religious reasons, I will not be able to attend parent-teacher conferences on Wednesday, 10/01. I will be scheduling all of my conferences on Thursday 10/02 and Wednesday, 10/03. If you do not feel that you need to speak with me you are welcomed to schedule on Wednesday.
Coming up this week 09/15-09/18:
- Wrap up our individual water cycle experiments
- Video: Water Cycle. Students will be taking a video quiz as well
- Experiment: States of Matter
- Observe and discuss ancient Colorado in preparation for field trip to Dinosaur Ridge

Highlights from last week:
- Handed out and filled out study guide for state test
- Discussed Colorado landforms: Great Plains, Plateaus, Mountains and Mountain Parks (North, Middle and South Park)
- Gave Water Diary assignment (due 9/12 or 9/15)
- Jigsaw Activity: Students were divided into groups and each group became an "expert" on a type of Colorado landform. We will be sharing these with the class in the near future
- The students did a wonderful job sharing their artifacts. Thank you so much for sending in your priceless heirlooms for us to see!!!
- Continued documenting our individual water cycles
- Finished our first read aloud: Denver Days
- Jordon did a fantastic job presenting his Student of the Week poster
