Happy Thanksgiving to All!!!!

We have a field trip next Tuesday, December 2nd to the Colorado History Museum.  Please send a completely disposable sack lunch.  We will be having our overnight at the Colorado History Museum this spring.  This field trip is a chance for the kids to get acquainted with their surroundings.

We are still collecting PINK Yoplait Yogurt Lids!  Keep sending them in!

Does anyone have an archeologist in their family?  Would they be available to come speak with our class about their work?  Please contact me if you know anyone.

The weather is turning a bit colder (though it hasn’t snowed yet ). Please make sure you student is coming to school dressed for the weather! We will be going outside for recess if it is above 20 degrees

 

November 14th marks the end of the 1st trimester! The year is 1/3 complete! I can hardly believe it!!!!

There is NO SCHOOL on Tuesday, November 11th, due to Veteran's Day.

Permission slips for our field trip to the Colorado History Museum will be sent home in the Monday folders on 11/10.  They are due back to me by Friday, 11/14

We have the Jim Beckwourth society coming to speak to us on Thursday, November 20th from 12:45 pm-1:45 pm.

The first semester ends on Friday, November 14th!!!  I can't believe 1/3 of the year is already gone!

Book orders will be coming home in the Monday Folders on 11/3. These are the holiday catalogs so please let me or Mrs. Halls know if what you are purchasing is a gift and I won’t give it out when they come in.

THANK YOU!!!! to Mrs. Lebsock, Mrs. Steeves and Mr. Szumski for chaperoning our field trip to the Broomfield Water Treatment plant!  It was a fabulous field trip and I hope your kiddoes are getting over their fear of drinking water.  :)

Halloween is quickly approaching.  This year K-6 students will be allowed to wear their costumes all day.  We will be having a Halloween Parade at a TBD time.  Masks will ONLY be allowed DURING the Halloween parade.  Please note that all costumes must meet dress code policies and that professional sports attire WILL be allowed on Halloween.  Weapons are NOT allowed.

The weather is beginning to change and one can definitely feel Autumn in the air, especially in the morning.  Please make sure you child is coming to school dressed appropriately for the weather.  As long as the temperature is above 20 degrees, we will be going out to recess.  It's better to take a coat off and put it on the blacktop during recess than to not have one to begin with.  Also, please make...

Dismissal on Wednesday, 10/01 will be at 11:30 am due to Parent-Teacher conferences.  No lunch will be served that day!

As a reminder, I will not be attending conferences on Wednesday, 10/01, due to religious reasons.  I look forward to speaking with everyone who scheduled for Thursday and Friday!

Conference time confirmation sheets will be in the 9/29 Monday folders.

Permission slips for the Water Treatment Plant will be going home in Monday Folders, 9/29.  Please sign and return.

Mrs. Halls has graciously offered to do Scholastic book orders for me this year.  Please look for catalogs in the 10/6 Monday folders!

Directions for the dough needed for our salt maps will be coming home on Monday, 9/29.  Please have the dough ready to bring to school on Wednesday, 10/8.  Students will also need a 7x7 piece of cardboard to put their dough on when we make the maps.  Thank you for helping with this part of the project!

We will be having a test on the Water Cycle on Thursday, October 9th.  Study guides will be coming home on Monday, 9/29.

Thank you to Mrs. Lebsock, Mr. Ilela and Mr. Szumski for chaperoning our field trip to Dinosaur Ridge on Thursday! We had a wonderful time and the kids did a fantastic job. One of the docents commented that we were the best class he has spoken to!!!!

 

Our next field trip will be to the Water Treatment Plant in October. Permission slips will be coming home in Monday folders soon.

 

Fall Conferences are coming up 10/01 -10/03. Conference sigh up sheets will be coming home in the 9/22 Monday folders. Please return these sheets to me no later than Wednesday, 9/24. As a reminder, I will not be able to attend conferences on Wednesday, 10/01 due to religious reasons. I will be scheduling all of my conferences on Thursday, 10/02 and Friday 10/03. If you do not feel that you need to speak with me, you are welcomed to schedule your conference on Wednesday, 10/01.

We are going to Dinosaur Ridge on Thursday, 9/18.  Please pack a completely disposable sack lunch for your student!  We will be leaving around 9:00am and returning around 1:30 pm.  Please make sure you student is wearing his/her tennis shoes for the field trip!

 

Our state test including Colorado and the surrounding states and the urban corridor is on Wednesday, 9/17.



There is no school on Friday, 9/19.  Have a fabulous long weekend!

 

Due to religious reasons, I will not be able to attend parent-teacher conferences on Wednesday, 10/01.  I will be scheduling all of my conferences on Thursday 10/02 and Wednesday, 10/03.  If you do not feel that you need to speak with me you are welcomed to schedule on Wednesday.

Wow! Another week is over. I hope everybody had a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

 

Curriculum Night is coming up this Wednesday, September 10th. There will be a Powerschool and Stargate website tutorial in the Multi-Purpose Room from 6:30pm-7:00 pm. Beginning at 7:00pm, you will have the opportunity to meet with your kiddo’s homeroom, literacy and math teacher. The sessions will run in half hour increments with Curriculum Night ending at 8:30 pm. Due to the time constraints, it will not be possible to speak about individual students, however, that opportunity is just around the corner with Fall Conferences at the beginning of October!

 

Permission slips for Dinosaur Ridge were due on Friday, 9/5. We are going to Dinosaur Ridge on Thursday, September 18th, from 9:00-1:30. Please send a sack lunch with your kiddo on that day!
