Welcome back!!!!!  I hope everyone had a wonderful, happy and relaxing holiday break.  I want to say another thank you for all the fabulous holiday gifts I received!  I was touched by the generosity and warm holiday wishes.

Our Economics store was a GREAT success.  I am so proud of all the students and their products.  Their enthusiasm was electric and they all did such a phenomenal job!  Thank you to all the parents who came on the second day to buy from everyone.  I know that all of my kids had to go home and make more products and most of them sold out a second time!  This will be an experience they will always remember and I want to thank everyone for being a part of it.

The Winter Party is next Friday, Dec 21.

Food for the party is supplied by all the parents. It is voluntary. We are hoping that parents will consider one of the following: cookies, fruit, cheese, candy, chips, mini sandwiches, etc..., so that there is a variety of snack items.

The parents running the party will supply the drinks.

Our Economics store is this Wednesday and Thursday, 12/19 and 12/20!!!  Products may come to school on Wednesday morning.  Parents may help deliver products to the classroom if necessary, however, ALL set up is the students' responsibility.  The store is closed to parents on Wednesday, 12/19.  We want this day to be just for the 3/4 students!

Parents are welcome to join us for the Economics store on Thursday 12/20 beginning at 8:30.  You may get money from your kiddoe's homeroom teacher and ONLY your kiddoe's homeroom teacher.  We have set aside a specific dollar amount with which parents may shop!

It's almost time for winter break!  I can hardly believe it!!  We have a lot to do in that short time.

We have a field trip on Tuesday, December 11th to NCAR in Boulder.  Please send your kiddoe with a disposable sack lunch.  Also, please make sure they are dressed appropriately for the weather.  We may be spending some time outside so they will need to be prepared.

Our Economics store is coming up on December 19th and December 20th.  You may start creating your products now, however, we did discuss how we want to hold off making food items until closer to the store.  Products need to stay at home until December 19th.

Our final Economics test will be Thursday afternoon, D ... Read More »

As we get closer to actually producing our products, the assignments get a bit tougher.  The Product Cost analysis went home today.  PLEASE help your kiddoe complete this sheet.  They may need little guidance or you may have to do the calculations for them, which is perfectly fine as long as they understand and can see what you are doing.  This worksheet is due Wednesday, 12/5 and we will be discussing it that day.  Thank you for all your support and help during this unit!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving break!

We had a great time at Celestial Seasonings on Tuesday.  Our next field trip will be on Tuesday, December 11th.  We will be going up to NCAR to learn more about weather.

Please make sure your kiddoe is coming to school with a warm jacket everyday.  It is very chilly during morning recess and we will be going out as long as the temperature is above 20 degrees.  Students will not be permitted to stay inside for recess due to inappropriate dress.

We are still collecting PINK Yoplait Yogurt labels through December 19th.  The class that collects to most will win a movie and popcorn party.
