We are half way through the trimester. Please make sure you are checking your child's grades on Power School and encourage your child to keep up his/her efforts in doing quality work and turning assignments in on time.

Homeroom happenings 4/21-4/25 |

In theme this week we are continuing our study of the North East states, focusing on Pennsylvania and Ohio. The final exam for these 12 states will be on Thursday, May 22. Students will need to know where each state is located, what the capital is for each state and its abbreviation. A study guide can be downloaded on my webpage under "documents."
In science, we are learning about some of the important astronomers in history such as Aristotle and Copernicus, and Galileo. We watched a video from Magic School Bus called Lost in Space. And finished our Solar System facts posters.

I hope you all enjoyed a restful 3-day weekend!
I am excited to announce that the 3rd and 4th graders at Stargate raised over $3,300 for Read to Feed! We are now deciding on how to spend the money in order to best benefit Heifer International.
Our overnight to the Denver Zoo is approaching. Please be sure that you return your signed permission slips, PLUS a check for $35 made out to Stargate to cover food, activities and lodging. These are do no later than Friday, April 18. I will send slips home on Wednesday 4/16 if your child is missing his/her form or money.
This week in theme:

This week, we will continue our study of the solar system. We will being the week by looking at what astronomy is and continue to study the planets, space, theories of the ancient/modern astronomers, and do several simple experiments that demonstrate facts about the concepts we will be studying.
Space station projects are due Wednesday, April 23. You can find a description of the project under my "documents."

There are no homeroom birthdays in the month of April. If your child has a summer birthday or a birthday that falls during a school break and would like to have them recognized on their "un-birthday" by sharing treats with the class you may do so this month!

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable spring break!
We all enjoyed our Read-a-thon for the Read to Feed fundraiser. Money is due by this Friday April 4th! Please make your checks out to Heifer International.
Look for the overnight field trip information in theis week's Weekly Folders.
This week in theme:
*We have finished our study of the human body and are beginning our unit on The Solar System.
*On Wednesday, students will be given guide lines for a space station project which will be due on April 18.
*Next Tuesday, April 8 is the last day in Ms. Zellinger's states' theme class. Next, our class will be studying the North Eastern states with me.

Spring "Road Trip" Scholastic book fair is March 17th-21st!!!!!
CSAP testing continues this week with fourth grade Monday-Thursday.
We will be going to the Fiske Planetarium on Tuesday, March 18th. Please remember to pack a sack lunch for your child on that day!
Our community service project, Read to Feed read-a-thon, is this Friday, March 21st. Students may wear their pajamas to school and bring in pillows and stuffed animals.

CSAP testing will be the weeks of Mar. 10-14th and Mar. 17-21st. It is important that you child attends on these days. A good night's sleep and a healthy breakfast is also helpful! 
Field trip to Fiske planetarium on March 18th. Please be sure to complete the permission slip and return it in the weekly folder.
Our overnight has been scheduled for the Denver Zoo on May 23rd.
The 3rd-4th grade will be conducting a Read to Feed- Children Changing the World for our next community service project. Information came home last week. Please encourage them to read as many books as possible so we can "buy" an animal for a needy family in another part of the world. < ...
