Homework Assignment

Making Salt Dough

Due Tuesday, September 23

We will be making relief maps during our study of Colorado regions and need salt dough so that we can build the maps at school.

The recipe is as follows:

2 cups flour

1 cup regular table salt

2 tablespoons of cooking oil

¾ cup water

Mix flour and salt together in a bowl. Add the oil to the water. Pour the water mixture slowly into the flour mixture, mixing it with your hands until it becomes soft and doughy. The dough needs to be the consistency of “playdough” that you buy in the store and should not stick to your hands. If the dough is too sticky, mix in a bit more flour.

**Students will also need an 8 X 8 inch cardboard square.

Thank you for your support with this project!

Welcome back, families!  It was great seeing both new and familiar faces last Thursday at Meet the Teacher!

Prior to teaching at Stargate School, I taught Fifth Grade at a gifted private school in Fremont, CA and at a charter school in Denver.   Previously, I also ran a private tutoring company servicing students Pre-K to 8th grade.

I am looking forward to getting to know you and your children better this year. Students will achieve much this year in terms of academic growth, greater self-confidence, and improved social skills. Good communication between...
