Jeff Burns grew up in a rural town in southern Minnesota. He enrolled at CU-Boulder and graduated with a psychology degree. He worked as a guidance counselor in a treatment facility for troubled teens for two years. During that time, Jeff picked up a second job as a teacher's aide at a charter school in Englewood. He enjoyed that experience so much that he went back to college to get his teaching credentials. He got his teaching certificate from Metro State College of Denver in the winter of 1998. Jeff worked as a substitute teacher for a year until he landed a third grade teacher position at a parochial school in Boulder. After seven years, he came to work at Stargate and this is his fourth year as a 3/4 teacher. Jeff helps to coach the boy's soccer team and coordinate the spelling bee. He enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his wife and eleven month old daughter, Lauren.
